Sources and corrections

Football data changes constantly. We identify our main data sources, distinguish official information from analysis and correct material errors transparently.

Structured data sources

MatchAngle currently uses football-data.org and API-Football for structured information such as fixtures, competitions, teams, results, standings and available match statistics. Coverage and update speed vary by competition and provider plan.

Editorial sources

Where an article refers to injuries, suspensions, transfers, confirmed line-ups or statements by a club or competition, we aim to rely on official announcements or clearly attributable reporting. Rumours should be labelled as such and should not be presented as confirmed information.

Timing and data differences

Kick-off times, venues, match status and statistics can be corrected by a data provider after initial publication. Displayed data may therefore differ temporarily from an official competition record. The latest page update should be treated as the most current MatchAngle version.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected as soon as reasonably possible. A correction should fix the inaccurate passage without silently changing the underlying editorial prediction after the event. Minor spelling, formatting and style changes may be made without a correction note.

Report an issue

To flag a factual or data error, email editorial@matchangle.com with the page address, the statement in question and a reliable supporting source.
